Inicio cá uma série de reviews de softwares que eu entitulo "Meu Deus, como eu viví sem isso?". Nesta série, faço análises de softwares que são imprescindíveis, e ao mesmo tempo completamente ignorados por todos os Geeks.
Neste primeiro review, apresento a vocês algo que deixaria o Pink e o Cérebro com inveja: O Self Hypnotizer.
O Self Hypnotizer é um programa que, como o próprio nome indica, diz criar condições hipnóticas no seu computador e proporcionar que você atinja um objetivo complexo (as vezes até impossível) embutindo a motivação direto no seu subconsciente.
Deste modo, se você possui problemas para conquistar garotas, basta apenas apontar o programa para lhe dizer que você é um Don Juan e não um nerdão sem jeito, e em muito pouco tempo você estará conquistando todas as garotas da faculdade de CC ou SI.
O uso é básico e simples:
Após baixar o programa (que é freeware), e executá-lo, uma tela explicando como a hipnose é importante é apresentada. Ela é mostrada sempre quando o programa é aberto, mesmo que você não aguente lê-la mais, sempre terá a oportunidade de vê-la de novo.

Na próxima tela é quando o negócio começa a ficar sério: Você é convidado a escolher uma tarefa específica para que o programa introduza nos locais mais profundos de suas entranhas, e induza você subconscientemente a realizá-la. Você pode escolher uma genérica dentre as opções exibidas ("Ser saudável","Ser uma pessoa que todo mundo ama", entre outras), ou escolher a sua própria frase para se auto-hipnotizar.

Escolhida a opção, somos apresentados ao programa própriamente dito. A proposta genial do programa é mostrar a frase por curtíssimos períodos de tempo, em um fundo aprazível (excetuando o varal pendurado), e com um som que parece o barulho que as naves alienígenas fazem quando abduzem alguém nos desenhos animados.

Os autores dizem que se você usar isto todo dia por um período longo de tempo, seu subconsciente irá tomar as mensagens subliminares como verdade, e você alcançará seu objetivo facilmente.
Alguns céticos dirão que este programa é uma fraude, que o barulho é capaz de fazer surdo qualquer um, e que esta idéia é digna do Joselito, porém, de modo óbvio, eu rejeito esta idéia e recomendo.

There was a time in the past when almost every BBQ was a Hibachi, this is no longer true, the king is dead, BUT - 'Long live the King!' as a new supreme leader is born in 'Son of Hibachi'. Aside from the name sounding like something you'd shout when you banged your head, the Son of Hibachi does what all other portable BBQ's don't. If you had to write a list of all the things wrong with mobile BBQ's it would probably go something like this: They take ages to get going; they're not compact; they're a nightmare to clean and carry; they're too hot to handle; they seldom have adjustable cooking heights, and often have a small cooking area; they take hours and hours to cool down; you have to carry the charcoal as well as the BBQ, and then where do you put the ash when you're done?
Meet the solution to all of these problems. Son of Hibachi, aside from being compact and highly portable, will light and be ready to cook in 7-10 minutes, has two adjustable height double cast iron grilling surfaces, will extinguish itself in a matter of minutes, is self cleaning (!!!!), keeps the ash in the BBQ for disposal later, comes with a snuff out pouch (so no waiting for coals to cool), and has legs to stop it scorching the ground. 'How on earth?' we hear you cry, or would if we were standing within earshot and you cried it. Well basically when in its folded position, the two grills act as a chimney, which more or less turns it into a blast furnace that gets the charcoal to cooking temperature in no time at all. When you're done cooking, you fold it back into the chimney shape and it burns itself out at such high temperatures that the super-heat burns all the grease and scraps from the grills. It also comes with a snuff out pouch which you can put the BBQ into even when it's red hot (it's made from the same stuff they make firemen's clothes out of). All the ashes collect in the base, the grills are designed so you hardly ever get flare up burning your food when you're cooking, the carrying handles become the legs, and, well, look they've just thought of everything, and packaged it up in a tough and beautifully well made, highly portable kit. Durability, reliability and functionality are what the Son of Hibachi is all about, long may he reign.

“Telefônica não tem controle nenhum de sua rede”, diz presidente da associação de usuários de banda larga

A terceirização de muitos processos da Telefônica seria uma das causadoras da pane do Speedy segundo Horácio Belfort, presidente da Abusar (Associação Brasileira dos Usuários de Acesso Rápido).

“A Telefônica não tem controle nenhum da rede dela! Na sua casa, quando dá um curto circuito, você desliga a chave geral, desliga todos os disjuntores e vai ligando um por um até identificar onde está o defeito. A Telefônica ainda não conseguiu fazer isso.”

Ele supõe que essa pane tenha acontecido porque ela terceirizou seus processos para várias empresas e cada empresa está com uma parte da rede, sem contar os diversos fornecedores de equipamento.

“E todos estão tentando resolver o problema ao mesmo tempo. Imagina a confusão que deve estar! A Telefônica, que devia ter a visão geral disso, também não tem. É o problema da terceirização: de repente, você perde a direção, o foco do processo.”

EUA querem atender 3% do consumo energético do país com cocô de vaca

Um grupo de americanos quer usar uma fonte de energia diferente para lutar contra o aquecimento global no país: cocô de vaca. É, você leu direito e não, não é brincadeira. Cientistas querem usar os dejetos do gado para levar eletricidade para até 3% de toda a América do Norte.

A tecnologia não é nova. O uso do estrume para geração de energia é comum em pequeníssima escala. Já é usado aqui no Brasil em comunidades rurais mais isoladas, onde a rede de energia elétrica não alcança. A novidade é que os pesquisadores americanos acreditam que essa técnica pode servir para energizar milhões de lares americanos.

O estrume gera dois gases com grande potencial energético: o óxido nitroso e o metano. O interessante é que esses dois gases também são poderosos vilões do aquecimento global. O óxido nitroso é 310 vezes mais poderoso que o dióxido de carbono; o metano, 21 vezes mais.

A equipe da Universidade do Texas comparou duas alternativas. A primeira era a continuação de tudo como está hoje: o estrume sendo deixado para se decompor naturalmente e a energia sendo obtida principalmente da queima de carvão. A segunda era uma nova alternativa: o uso do estrume para a geração de biogás e energia.

Segundo as contas dos cientistas, 100 bilhões de quilowatts/hora poderiam ser gerados com o número atual de gado que os Estados Unidos possuem. O bônus? Tirar de circulação o metano e o óxido nitroso e reduzir em 4% a emissão de gases do efeito estufa do país.

“A eletricidade gerada seria usada mais em áreas rurais, não em cidades”, explicou ao G1 o autor do estudo, Michael Webber. “A melhor maneira de expandir essa tecnologia é incentivar grandes fazendas a lidar com o estrume de maneira a ser convertido em biogás”, explica.

De acordo com Webber, a geração de energia dessa forma pode até resultar em uma nova fonte de renda para os pecuaristas. “Eles podem vender o biogás ou a eletricidade gerada”, diz ele. E economizar o dinheiro gasto para se livrar do estrume.

Os resultados foram apresentados nesta semana na revista especializada “Environmental Research Letters”.

Os passageiros de ônibus da cidade de São Paulo terão a partir desta segunda-feira (28) uma hora a mais para fazer quatro viagens pagando apenas uma passagem.

Hoje, a pessoa pode fazer até quatro viagens em duas horas. Com a mudança, vai ser possível fazer as mesmas quatro viagens - só que em até três horas. A novidade, no entanto, não vale para quem usa o bilhete único de estudante ou do trabalhador.

O ajudante geral Josenildo pega o primeiro ônibus no bairro Horizonte Azul, extremo da Zona Sul. Na sexta-feira (25), a viagem dele começou às 6h10. Portanto, ele tinha até as 8h10 para chegar ao trabalho, na Mooca, Zona Leste, pagando apenas uma passagem.

Ele chegou ao trabalho às 9h04, depois de duas horas e 54 minutos dentro do ônibus. Precisou pagar duas passagens. Mesmo com o aumento do tempo, ele diz que será difícil fazer o trajeto pagando uma passagem. "Vai continuar apertado, porque hoje (sexta) quase completou três horas - e não teve trânsito", justificou.

Fogo atinge píer na Inglaterra

Um píer turístico no resort Weston-super-Mare, no sudeste da Inglaterra, foi destruído pelas chamas nesta segunda-feira (28).

As chamas tomaram o local rapidamente. Grande parte da construção feita de madeira, de 1904, foi reduzida a cinzas. Uma enorme nuvem de fumaça cinza podia ser vista a quilômetros.

Ninguém ficou ferido, e ainda não se sabe o que provocou o incêndio.

O píer já havia sido atingido por um incêndio em 1930, e só reabriria três anos depois.

El próximo eclipse total de sol será retransmitido vía Internet desde Siberia entre las 11.40 y 13.45 horas del próximo 1 de agosto, informó hoy el grupo de investigación Cíclope de la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM). La retransmisión será realizada por la expedición Shelios, compuesta por escolares canarios liderados por el astrónomo del Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias Miquel Serra, que se desplazarán hasta el enclave de Novosibirsk (Siberia). Desde allí, emitirán vía satélite a la Facultad de Informática de la UPM la señal de audio y vídeo correspondiente al período de tiempo central del eclipse (segundo y tercer contacto).

El evento se podrá seguir desde la dirección eclipse.cesvima.upm.es, con los comentarios de Serra, con pequeñas variaciones temporales sobre el horario previsto en función del emplazamiento definitivo de la expedición. Se estima que la infraestructura preparada podrá suministrar imagen y sonido a un número de visitas máximo de 25.000 usuarios. Un eclipse solar tiene lugar cuando, desde un punto de la superficie terrestre, la Luna oculta al Sol. Para que se produzca debe haber luna nueva y, para que sea total los observadores deben situarse dentro del cono de sombra lunar, cuyo diámetro máximo sobre la superficie de nuestro planeta no supera los 270 km.

El próximo viernes 1 de agosto se producirá el segundo eclipse total de sol del milenio que no es visible desde ningún punto de España.

Con motivo de este evento, se desplazará a Siberia (Novosibirsk , Rusia) la expedición Sheilos . Esta expedición tiene como objetivo la observación y retransmisión de este eclipse.

La expedición partirá el 27 de julio de España (Canarias/Madrid) hacia Moscú, recorrerá la ruta transiveriana hasta Novosibirsk y, tras 12 días, volverá a España el 7 de agosto.
